Sonderby Design is the creative practice of Jennifer Sonderby — a studio driven by curiosity and built around collaboration. Partnering with organizations of all sizes, the studio crafts compelling narratives through identity systems, campaigns, spatial experiences, and communications. For each project, a tailored team is assembled to bring the right perspectives to the work. The result is design that is original, unexpected, and resonant.
Before founding the studio, Sonderby served as Design Director at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, where she led the studio through a full institutional rebrand, resulting in an acclaimed visual identity that launched alongside the opening of its expansive new building. She chairs the Communication Design program at California College of the Arts, where she also teaches. Her work is held in the SFMOMA permanent collection and recognized by professional organizations and publications worldwide.
