Although recognition of the individual de Young and Legion of Honor museums is relatively high, very few current and potential visitors understand that the two museums share a diverse collection and operate jointly as the “Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.” Sonderby Design developed a brand strategy, refined a messaging platform and revised the existing identity to connect the two museums and position  the institution to strengthen its reputation, penetrate the market, and achieve greater operational efficiencies.
